One imagines in time that London's 2012 Olympic Stadium will enter this Top 10 list.  However, for now, the list appears to be rather exhaustive and well spread geographically.
Given that this vote was made by a U.S. audience; it is hardly surprising that three U.S. stadia feature in the Top 10 with Germany being the only other country to have more than one stadium on the list.
UNLUCKY TO MISS OUT:    AVIVA Stadium, Lansdowne Road, Dublin
Beijing's (China) National Aquatic Centre is the only former Olympic (2008) venue along with Yogogi National Gymnasitc Centre, Japan (1964) to feature on the list.  Three former World Cup stadia feature in Munich's Allianz Arena (2006 host) and Berlin's Olympiastadion (1974 & 2006 World Cup hosts).  Cape Town Stadium, with arguably the most panaromic scenery comes in at Number Two on the list, and hosted games at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Irish eyes will be disappointed that the historic (and Europe's fourth largest capacity) Croke Park does not feature on the list whilst Landsdowne Road's spectaculor AVIVA Stadium could also be worth a shout.
Here is the Top 10 in full (with thanks to Katina Solomon of Zencollegelife.com):
