The Olympic torch could visit Dublin next year |
A decision on whether or not the Irish capital will be added to the list will be made in July this year. A spokesperson for the Olympic Council of Ireland said that if the torch does come here; the plan is to have between 50 and 75 people carry the torch.
The torch relay to precede the 2012 London Olympic Games will start in Land's End and travel as far as the outer Hebrides on an 8,000-mile journey to the stadium.
The Olympic Flame will arrive from Greece exactly one year from today and the relay will kick off in Land's End, Cornwall, and continue for 70 days until the opening ceremony of the Games on 27 July, 2012.
