Alan Pardew is new Newcastle manager.

Stressful times ahead for Alan Pardew (above)

Alan Pardew has been told that his remit as the new manager of Newcastle United is to: "keep the club in the Premier League" - something which former manager CHRIS HUGHTON looked emminently likely to do!
Pardew has stated that other Premier League managers had texted him saying he was "mad" to take the Newcastle manager's job. Pardew is the sixth Newcastle United manager in just 5 years.

Ian Holloway: "I'm not mad"
The always honest Blackpool F.C. manager IAN HOLLOWAY says: "People say that I'm mad, but I'm not mad; this industry (i.e. football management) is mad. Chris is a smashing lad and he did a fantastic job at Newcastle. This is one of the most shocking sackings I have seen in the last 5, 6 or even 7 years."
