Diego Forlan awarded World Cup Golden Ball:
Uruguay (and Athletico Madrid's) Diego Forlan has been awarded the FIFA Adidas Golden Ball for his performances in leading Uruguay to fourth place at this year's World Cup. Forlan scored 5 goals in 7 World Cup matches and was presented with the Golden Ball by Franz Beckenbaur at last night's ceremony.
Germany (and Bayern München) striker Thomas Müller was awarded the Adidas Golden Boot Award as leading scorer of the tournament. Müller also scored 5 goals in Football's Greatest Event, but Müller's 3 assists (to Forlan's 2) meant that the German took the Golden Boot in last night's ceremony in Germany.
Real Madrid and Spain captain Iker Casillas (pictured left) was awarded the "FIFA/Adidas Golden Glove" as the World Cup's best goalkeeper. Casillas kept 5 clean sheets in 7 matches in South Africa as he led "La Roja" to lift the FIFA World Cup.
