UEFA Champions League Group Stage Climax; CONGRATULATIONS F.C. København & Tottenham!

Champions League Groups A-D finished tonight with F.C. København becoming the first Danish side to reach the Quarter Finals of the Champions League - a remarkable feat for such a small (footballing) nation. The population of Ireland is approximately the same as that of Denmark - so maybe there's hope for us?!

FC København celebrate the phenomenal achievement of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League
for the first time ever

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspurs topped Group A with a 3-3 draw away to F.C. Twente. It's a fantastic achievement for the North London club, topping a Group containing defending champions (and reigning Serie A kings) Inter Mian, German Champions Werder Bremen and Dutch Champions F.C. Twente.
In qualifying for the Quarter Finals in their first Champions League season, Spurs became the first side to score at least 2 goals in each one of their 6 Champions League Group games. It's a great achievement for a club who are not short of a few quid, but certainly do not have the resources of the likes of Manchester United, North London rivals Arsenal (or indeed Inter Milan).

Spurs have done-and played-fantastically under Harry Redknapp (above); while Redknapp says:
"Spurs will attack the Champions League with relish!"
