Hunt's goal puts Wolves one point from Premier League safety
Wolves are back in business and now have every chance of survival thanks to a goal from Ireland's Stephen Hunt and a 1-0 Derby defeat of local rivals Birmingham City! This win is just desserts for a Wolves side that has been performing admirably over recent weeks, but not getting rewarded for it - mainly thanks to stupendous goalkeeping from opposition goalkeepers.
Stephen Hunt hailed Wolve's pre-match preparations as the reason for their victory and the fact that Wolves managed to win without their star man - and fellow Ireland international KEVIN DOYLE (dead leg) augurs well ahead of next weekend's Black Country Derby against West Bromwich Albion.

Wolves manager (and former Ireland World Cup captain and manager): MICK McCARTHY said after today's hard fought 1-0 win: "I've been delighted by the performance, application and team spirit every week but it's a result today and that's all that matters." - here, here Mick, here, here. It was Wolves first clean sheet of the season - and our first shut-out since April - no wonder Mick was so happy afterwards. ;-)

Hard work starting to pay off for the one and only MICK McCARTHY
