Hammered Howlett arrested again
Howlett: embarassed again
Munster (and All-Black all-time top try scorer) Doug Howlett claims he was "unlucky" to have been arrested while revelling at Munster Rugby's Christmas bash in Kilkenny city. Howlett got involved in an altercation with another man in the "Marble City" and was detained overnight by Gardaí. This brings back memories of Howlett's arrest in 2007, after New Zealand had been knocked out of the Rugby World Cup. Howlett spent the night drinking and was caught trashing cars near the All Black team hotel in Cardiff. Howlett apologised and has been mercilessly mocked by Munster team-mates ever since - with "Hide the BMW's!" being the common catchphrase. It is unlikely that Howlett will be let off lightly (by team-mates) for this latest offence, though he is expected to get little more than a slap on the wrist or an "adult warning" from authorities.
Tough night for Kilkenny pub workers Pub workers in Kilkenny city that night said: "Most of the Munster players on the night of the Christmas party were smashed and wouldn't have gotten in anywhere if they weren't who they are."
