Northern Irish man nominated for Top FIFA award:

Matty Burrows: INCREDIBLE goal!
Northern Ireland's Matty Burrows has been nominated for "FIFA's Goal of the Year 2010." The part-time waiter's goal - which was scored by the Glentoran striker on October 5th against Portadown F.C. in the Irish League - and  has become an internet phenomenon. The announcement for "FIFA Goal of the Year 2010" will be made tonight at a ceremony in Zurich, Switzerland, with Burrow's incredible strike on a shortlist of 10 alongside Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo. The truth is that both Messi and Ronaldo would be proud to score a goal like it:

The "FIFA Balon D'Or 2010" will also be announced tonight: with Barcelona's Messi, Xavi and Iniesta the three short-listed for what is the definitive individual football award.
